Marco Simoncelli 1987-2011

I took this photograph of Marco during the 2011 Silverstone MotoGP qualifying session. Marco sadly lost his life on the second lap of the Malaysian Grand Prix on 23rd October 2011. I’m an avid MotoGP fan, and like many, thought Marco was a future world champion. Not only a huge talent but also a real personality. Marco’s death is a huge loss to the sport and I feel truly lucky that I was able to watch him race in the flesh before his untimely departure from the sport.
